Dr. Makenzi Cavanaugh is a naturopathic physician with a passion for integrative, whole-body medicine that blends modern diagnostics with the body’s innate healing capacity. Her path into medicine began at Ohio University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and Nutrition. Through personal health challenges and supporting family members with autoimmune conditions, she recognized a gap in conventional healthcare — particularly in prevention, optimization, chronic disease management, and long-term wellness — which led her to pursue a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at Sonoran University in Tempe, Arizona.

During her training, she received extensive mentorship in pain management and image-guided orthobiologic procedures, developing a strong clinical foundation in musculoskeletal care and minimally invasive treatment approaches.

Dr. Cavanaugh moved to Washington to complete her residency training in an integrative medical practice, where she focuses on thoughtfully combining conventional and natural therapies to create personalized treatment plans for each patient.

With a strong interest in hormone optimization and longevity medicine, she is certified in hormone replacement therapy and evaluates hormone balance as a foundational component of overall health, recovery, and vitality throughout all stages of life.

Her clinical work emphasizes precision diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions using advanced ultrasound training, allowing for targeted and effective treatments. She incorporates minimally invasive therapies such as shockwave therapy, perineural injection therapy, prolotherapy, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to support healing and restore function.

Dr. Cavanaugh also has a special interest in regenerative aesthetics. She believes aesthetic medicine should enhance natural features rather than alter them, using treatments that stimulate the body’s own repair processes. She offers neuromodulators for natural, expressive results as well as regenerative skin treatments including PRP, microneedling, exosome therapies, plasma resurfacing, hair restoration, and laser hair removal.
