Prolotherapy is a safe, effective injection therapy for soft tissue injury and chronic joint pain.

What is Prolotherapy?

Prolotherapy is a regenerative injection treatment designed to joint and soft tissue (ligament/tendon) pain. Modern prolotherapy has been in use since the 1930’s, and is one of the foundational treatments in regenerative medicine.

How Does it Work?

Prolotherapy stimulates the body’s natural healing cascade. A combination of Dextrose, a natural sugar and stimulating agent, and saline (salt water) is injected into the affected joint or soft tissue. This dextrose acts as a minor irritant, creating a micro-injury which results in localized inflammation that stimulates the tissue to repair itself. Tissue treated with prolotherapy has been found to be thicker and tighter, with better fiber structure which allows for increased stability in the treatment area.

What Can Prolotherapy Treat?

Prolotherapy can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including:

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Degenerative Disc Disease

  • Neck Pain

  • Back Pain

  • Joint instability

  • Plantar fasciitis

Prolotherapy can require multiple injections to achieve optimal results. Our dedicated physicians will perform a physical exam to determine the nature of your pain or injury, and provide education on your regenerative treatment options.
