Ayurvedic Medicine

Ayurveda is a traditional East Indian medicine practice dating back hundreds of years.

Ayurvedic treatments are highly individualized based on a patient's  unique genetic makeup and constitution. The goal of Ayurvedic medicine is not symptom relief, but rather to return each individual to their unique state of balance.

The foundation of Ayurveda is an understanding of the three Ayurvedic elements: fire, air, and earth. The idea is that each of these elements exist in the world around us, and within us. Each individual has a predisposition toward a certain element, and in order to maintain balance, each individual has to counteract their natural inclination towards that certain element with treatments that provide the other two elements.

Treatments primarily focus on diet, lifestyle, herbal medicine, and breath work to optimize health. A patients' daily routine and what treatments would fit well with their routine are also taken into account.
