We’ve all had that terrible moment waking up - where you slowly open your eyes and realize that you can’t breath out of your nose, your throat feels like you swallowed shards of glass, and there’s a pounding headache behind your eyes. This is the sad, gross reality of getting the common cold. While there’s no cure for the common cold, you can boost your immune system to help it fight off your cold and offer some symptom relief in the process.
Enter Immunitea, Dr. Sage’s special formula designed to help boost your immune system and combat cold symptoms from a runny nose to a wet cough. This recipe might not be the tastiest formula, but the results are well worth it -Immunitea has a high success rate in helping patients kick their cold to the curb.
1 quart hot water
4-6 cloves of fresh garlic, finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated then chopped
1 tbsp raw honey
Juice of 1 lemon
⅛ to ¼ tsp of cayenne pepper
Combine all of these ingredients together. Note that the cayenne should add enough spice to make your ears warm and your nose run, but not so much as to cause gastrointestinal distress. If you have a history of ulcer disease or gastritis, we recommend not using Immunitea as it can aggravate these conditions.
Why These Ingredients
Garlic is both a natural antibacterial and anti-fungal, which can help combat bacteria often found in mucus. Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory, while lemon and honey both soothe the throat and have some antibacterial properties. Cayenne pepper is an immune stimulant, which improves circulation and assists in the elimination of mucus.
Immunitea is most effective if taken at the first sign of symptoms. Be sure to consume the entire quart in 24 hours for maximum effect. Pro-tip: shake or stir the remedy as you drink it to make sure you get bits of garlic and ginger in every sip.
