I am a nerd, not a techie ind like most people in the Seattle area, I am talking a health science, nutrition, exercise and food nerd. I am absolutely fascinated by all the ways we can make our bodies healthy, and the power of whole, nutritious food. The power to fuel our body, boost our energy, ignite our brains and improve mood! Food is medicine. Food fuels our bodies. What if we thought about food in that way? Every single thing you put in your body has a purpose to fuel it. THE END. Wait what? How about this: If you can’t pronounce it, your body can’t process it! You will then know how amazing you feel when you eat clean, whole, nutrient rich foods. How you have more energy and might even feel a little happier. Then there is that yucky slow and bleh feeling after eating processed food. Instead of bringing you down, what if the food you put in your body helped your immune system, reduced cancer risk, reduced inflammation, gave you more energy, balanced your mood and even helped you sleep better? This medicine is much cheaper and better for your body with NO side effects. Maybe we need less pharmacy and more farm-I-see! Are you smiling? That is also good for your health! Hippocrates had it right, stating long, long ago “Let your food be your medicine.”
Think about a rainbow. See all those colors? Challenge yourself to eat fruits and vegetables of all colors to give your body the nutrient packed fuel it needs to thrive. Offer your kids a chance to eat the rainbow, and not the kind Marshawn Lynch eats! NOT SKITTLES! I am going to save my rant on sugar for another blog… BLEH! Especially as I sit here writing this at a swim meet with all the concessions offering sugar, sugar, refined carbs and more sugar. I strongly believe and know from my experience and from the research, that your body craves the nutrients it needs and is missing. I want to help you flip the cravings switch. When you crave sugar and I am talking bad sugar and unhealthy carbs, you are not giving your body the nutrient rich foods it really needs. I want to help you flip that switch! What if we trick your cravings? What if we pack your daily food plan (notice I don’t use the word diet, I don’t believe in them) with so much nutrition and all the proteins, good fats, good carbs, fiber, fruit and vegies that your cravings for “bad” food, food that does not fuel your body, what if we make those go away? We can totally make this happen! Feel fee to tell me about your cravings and lets figure out what your body is missing (email@example.com).

Lots of antioxidants to protect your body and reduce inflammation. One additional fun nerdy nutrition fact: eating vegetables with your healthy carbs reduces the overall glycemic index of your entire meal.
